Q. Does iQcontacts completely replace the built in Contacts application?iQcontacts provides the functions provided in the built in Contacts application, and many more features: Reminders, Smart Lookup, Recent List, etc.

viewing a record: Q. How do I set up my Palm to launch iQcontacts?It is best to run iQcontacts in place of the Contacts application. Q. How can I run the Contacts application, after checking Launch with Contacts Button?Tap the Contacts icon from the Applications Launcher screen (Home). Q. What is the recommended way to lookup a contact?You can lookup records based on the First Name, Last Name, or Company Name, without needing to re-sort the Contacts list. You can also lookup a record using a combination of First Name and Last Name. Q. What is Stylus Free lookup?In Stylus Free lookup you can easily
lookup names without using the keyboard, and without needing the stylus. Q. How do I switch between Stylus Free lookup and Smart lookup?To switch to Stylus Free lookup from Smart lookup, tap the abc... button.
Q. How can I change the position of the buttons in Stylus Free lookup mode?The buttons that are used to lookup names can be on either side of the screen. This makes it convenient for both left handed and right handed people.
Q. What are the records at the top of the screen that are shown in a different color?These are the records in your Recent Number List. Your Recent Number List will be displayed in a different color, and shown at the top of the screen each time you run iQcontacts. Q. What is a Recent Number?iQcontacts keeps track of the contacts that you recently looked up. Each time you run iQcontacts, up to ten recent numbers are displayed at the beginning of the list. This makes it very easy to find the phone number of someone who you recently looked up.
Q. How can I remove a record from the Recent Number List?Tap the desired record. When the record is opened, you will see the Recent List checkbox in the Title Bar. Uncheck the Recent List checkbox, and tap the OK button. The record will be removed from the Recent Number List. Q. How many records can I have in the Recent Number List?You can up to 10 records in the Recent Number List. Q. What happens if I already have 10 records in the Recent Number List, and I want to insert another record into the list?The new record will get inserted, and the last record that was in the list will be deleted. The records in the Recent Number List are shown in the order of most recent use. The most recently opened number will be shown on the top line, and the others will follow. Q. When I open a record, will that record always be put in the Recent Number List?You can uncheck the Recent List checkbox, and then the record won't be inserted into the Recent Number List. Q. How can I not have records automatically inserted into the Recent Number List?Run iQcontacts, tap the top left corner of the screen. From the Options menu, select iQcontacts Prefs. In the iQcontacts Preferences screen, make sure that Auto Insert into Recent List is not checked. Q. Why would I need a Reminder in iQcontacts?A Reminder is an alarm that you can set for any record in your iQcontacts. You specify the time that the alarm will ring, and a one line message that will be displayed when the alarm sounds. In addition to the one line message, the name of the person and all of their phone numbers will be displayed when the alarm rings. Q. How can I see a list of all the reminders that I set?In Smart lookup, tap the Q. How can I insert an event into the Calendar from within iQcontacts?Once you select the desired contact, tap the Q. How do I pop-up iQcontacts?First do the following: run iQcontacts, and tap the

checked. Q. What is a Virtual Link to a Contact?A Virtual Link allows you to directly access a certain record in iQcontacts from almost any application on your Palm. Q. How do I create a Virtual Link?Before you create a Virtual Link, run iQcontacts, and
tap the top left corner of the screen. From the Options
menu, select iQcontacts Prefs. In the iQcontacts Preferences
screen, make sure that iQcontacts Pop-Up Enabled is
checked. Q. Is there a way to learn about iQcontacts directly on my Palm?There is an on-line Help Menu located conveniently in
iQcontacts, to let you learn about the various features while you are
on the go! Q. Why aren't all the features in iQcontacts documented?iQcontacts is based on the built in Contacts application. The iQcontacts User Manual does not cover any features that are identical to the features in the Contacts application. See the documentation that came with your Palm for additional information about the operation of Contacts. Q. Can I change the colors that are being used in iQcontacts?The same color scheme on one Palm, may look very different
on another Palm. Q. How do I beam iQcontacts to another Palm?You can beam iQcontacts to these devices:
The receiving organizer will be able to use iQcontacts for the 30 day
trial period (unless they had it beforehand). Position the two organizers,
so that the Infra Red port of the receiving organizer is within two
feet of the sending organizer. Q. How does iQcontacts integrate with DateBk6?Features have been added in both iQcontacts and DateBk6 to integrate the two applications seamlessly. In order for the integration to work, open DateBk6, select Preferences from the Options menu, and tap the Split tab. Enter PTpm in the Addr CreatID field (at the bottom of the screen). Q. What is the User Defined Search feature?The User Defined Search feature allows you to create searches based on any field in your Contacts.
Initially there will four pre-defined searches: State, Country, Search, and PhoneNum.
Tap the Smart button, and select the one you want. Q. How do I view any newly added records?Run iQcontacts, tap the top left corner of the screen. From the Record menu, select View New Records. |
